DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - Hedra Group, 2021

The Role: Game Designer and Tone Editor

Joined the Hedra Group to ensure character consistency throughout “One Night Strahd”, an Ennie Award-winning 525-page vaporwave gothica Fifth Edition adventure.

In this role I provided playtest and QA support in addition to game design and tone editing responsibilities, which allowed me greater insight in how I wrote technical instructions to better support narrative requirements for a clean and accessible player experience.

ONS is a quick adventure designed to be playable in 12-16 hours based on data showing a need for shorter campaign experience.

Design Accomplishments

Completed copy and content editing for style, voice, clarity, and tone consistency across 150,000 words.

As a game designer and editor with over 600+ hours of experience running Fifth Edition games as a professional Dungeon Master, I worked with lead authors to develop and revise game mechanics for a looping, replayable adventure designed specifically for folks who want to run a TTRPG for an event.

The modular level design of ONS provides carefully designed flowcharts and event triggers, reincarnation mechanics, novel approaches to running large encounter spaces with numerous combatants as well as chase scenes.
