About M
“I want to design experiences that feel great behind the wheel and stay with players long after the credits roll.”
M is a technical narrative designer with 7 years of professional industry experience. They’re located in Virginia and building a career in video games as a narrative designer and game designer with a focus on worldbuilding and story integration. They graduated from Tillamook Bay Community College in 2018 with a dual arts degree and a published wildlife guide—the first book of many to come.
Since 2018, they’ve taken on roles of writer, editor, narrative designer, and QA tester for a variety of tabletop RPG books and supplements. In 2022, M branched out into video games to build a robust narrative system from the ground up as a contract freelancer for a small game studio’s upcoming live-service MMOARPG.
Currently, M is creating as-yet-unannounced TTRPGs at Dire Wolf Digital. By moonlight they’re writing an original TTRPG adventure inspired by Vietnamese mythology, as well as solo-developing a cozy-horror CRPG about being a scavenger witch’s familiar in a cyberpunk noir urban fantasy setting.
Before starting work at Dire Wolf Digital, they led narrative design for upcoming D&D 5E supplement “The Vineyard”, featuring a setting-agnostic undead criminal organization with a modular structure.
When not game dev-ing, M enjoys buying people copies of Outer Wilds, hitting the gym, and taking Pumpkin (their beloved orange cat) on walks.

Gaming for Charitable Causes
In 2020, M and co-founder Jack Mistretta established Draw4Charity: a volunteer-led charity fundraising group that hosts marathon live-stream events in support of charities like Child’s Play Charity and Worldbuilders.
Draw4Charity has raised over $40k with no external funding. 100% of funds raised have gone directly to charities.
